This week the Wild Cats started to explore the Math Workshop model. The question of the day was...'last night I found a hole in my backyard. When I looked in it I saw 4 eyes. Who could these eyes belong to?' We had many creative ideas and all answers were great. The purpose is to get the children to think and realize that there is not any one particular answer that is correct and even if there is one correct answer in some cases, we can show it in many different ways. The focus is on articulating our mathematical thinking.
Today we also explored some concrete numbers in order to reinforce one to one correspondence. The Wild Cats beaded some flags!
